KVC of Missouri (Formerly Great Circle) - School Based Support Services: Student Support Services

Struggles in the classroom or with school success could be a sign that a child needs some mental health support. KVC's Student Support Services program works within the school setting to ensure students receive the mental health services they need. Students receive one hour of individual therapy each week during the school day, based on their specific mental health needs.

Jewish Family & Children’s Service  - We provide comprehensive and confidential counseling to help our clients who are experiencing distress in their lives.  Our licensed therapists use a range of approaches to provide counseling for families, children, and adolescents who are coping with difficult times or disruptive life events, such as:

• Depression/anxiety
• Trauma
• Abuse/violence
• Interpersonal relationships
• Mental/physical illness
• Parent/child relationships
• Family conflict
• School behavior
• Social skills

CHADS Coalition - CHADS offers school outreach programs, community awareness presentations, and classes as well as family support programs to advance the awareness and prevention of depression and suicide.

Therapeutic services are also offered through CHADS.

A CHADS Coalition Mentor will provide one-to-one mentoring and relationship building with individual students who may benefit from extra support. CHADS Coalition mentors will provide Social Emotional Wellbeing (SEW) Mentoring in an environment where mentees can receive positive and specific guidance to develop social and emotional skills. Their curriculum includes the following skills: Self-Management, Self Awareness, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, and Responsible Decision Making. Students meet weekly for 30 minutes with their mentor.

BHR - (http://bhrstl.org/)   BHR provides confidential telephone counseling to people in mental health crises as well as mobile outreach services, community referral services and critical incident stress management (CISM). BHR’s crisis hotline and mobile outreach services are provided free of charge to the public by paid professional staff who have master's degrees in their respective behavioral science disciplines.
